Blossom Bus mentors are empowering girls in gender wise backward Haryana to reach for a dream of higher education and establishing a career.

We are delighted to share the wonderful news that over the course of 2022 our Blossom Bus (BB) program at Haryana trained and employed former BB riders as mentors, education and gender champions to provide our girls inspiration and encouragement to pursue their dreams of further education and a career path.

Who better than graduates from villages all our BB riders hail from to act as role models?

Two of our mentors, sisters Amita and Babita overcame tremendous difficulties including losing their mother, to graduate College. They’ve now taken their success to another level by getting employment as mentors for Blossom Bus. Amita told us in her own words, “We’re determined to convince our juniors they can do what we’ve done, that education is their right and they should fight for it.”

Their work includes taking daily attendance and even helping riders with advice on how to convince their parents about the importance of girl’s education and to support their dream of getting a professional qualification.
