Ensuring children, especially girls, get to school and attend regularly is a huge challenge in many parts of rural India. Extremes of weather including blistering summers and monsoon rains reduce the number of days that children attend school. The cost of a bicycle is sometimes all it takes to ensure that children get to school on time, everyday, fresh and with energy for their studies.

White Lotus Pedals program is not simply providing a bike. The program works with school and government authorities to identify the most needy students and mobilise their parents to sign a contract agreeing to keep their girls in school for at least two year come what may.
